Launch Assumptions¶
This page is the single source of truth for locked launch decisions. Future doc edits should not contradict these without a deliberate choice recorded here.
Hub City¶
Placeholder name: Trevalkaan
One main city. Characters begin in their chosen village and travel to Trevalkaan after completing the village intro arc. Village contacts and first board work anchor to the starting village; Trevalkaan opens as the full game hub on arrival. The name is a placeholder and should be replaced before public naming or marketing.
Playable People¶
One human-like playable race at launch. Variation comes from Lineage and Village Origin, not separate fantasy species.
Non-human races (dwarves, elves, etc.) are deferred. No timeline set.
Character Control¶
Players directly control one adventurer. This is not a character-management or idle game. The player makes decisions for that one character.
Hireable NPC helpers for narrow delegated tasks (transport, workshop support, field labor) are a Phase 2 addition.
Launch Region¶
Frontier Marches — one temperate borderlands region. Farms, roads, ruins, goblin pressure, wolves, and bandit activity around Trevalkaan.
No multi-region split at launch. Other regions (Frost Tundra, Sunscar Desert, Storm Coast, Ashwood Wilds) are post-launch.
Launch Scope Targets¶

Currency¶
One unified currency: coin. No denominations, no tiers.
- Coin enters the economy through NPC mission payouts and selling goods to NPC vendors.
- Human-type enemies (bandits, brigands, deserters) carry coin and drop it on defeat.
- All other creature types drop materials only — no coin. This includes beasts, goblinoids, undead, constructs, vermin, and all non-human families.
- Beast and creature materials are collected through wilderness activities selected before departure (harvesting, gathering, mining, fishing, etc.). Each selected activity adds time to the expedition duration.
- New characters start with 100 coin regardless of lineage, village origin, archetype, or background.
- Origin and archetype do not affect starting coin at launch.
Things Intentionally Deferred¶
- Additional races or non-human peoples
- Multi-region launch
- NPC hireling systems
- Town ownership and governance (Phase 3)
- Live action combat
- High-frequency synchronous simulation
